Case Development and Consulting
For over 20+ years Continental Adjusters’
President, Steve Mayor, has fulfilled the “expert” needs of attorneys.
His ability to provide this
expertise comes simply from real world, “boots on the ground”
experience. He has
inspected, estimated and negotiated thousands of losses at various
(manufacturing and distribution facilities, school districts, cities,
apartments, etc.) locations - from the moment of the loss through final
construction. With this
experience he knows how to help you develop a case and provide a
perspective not possible to obtain in a lawyer’s office.
We don’t just show up on our deposition date and state our
opinion. Rather, we work
side by side with many of the country’s largest firms to help shepherd
the case to the best possible outcome.
In one instance Mr. Mayor,
along with his tenured staff, inspected, surveyed and estimated losses
for over 2.5 million square feet of buildings spread over fifteen school
campuses; total loss exceeded $100,000,000 to a school district after a
devastating hurricane. In
addition, Mr. Mayor was engaged by this law firm to provide expert
testimony regarding his opinions and conclusions relative to causation.
As stated by the Senior Partner in the law firm “Mr. Mayor
performed all services professionally and expediently.
Continental was responsive to all requests and provided excellent
work product,” which largely contributed to our success in litigation.
Qualifications
Mr. Mayor, over the past twenty years has been a
fact and expert witness for several property and product liability
claims. He has trial experience
as an expert witness and provides his expert witness capabilities only
to the insured.
What is an expert witness?
An expert witness or
professional witness is an expert who by virtue of education, training,
skill or experience is believed to have expertise and specialized
knowledge in a particular subject beyond that of the average person,
sufficient that others may officially and legally rely upon the
witness's specialized opinion about an evidence or fact issue within the
scope of his expertise, referred to as the expert opinion, as an
assistance to the fact-finder. Expert
witnesses may also deliver expert evidence about facts from the domain
of their expertise.
